Anton Kehrers künstlerische Praxis ist im Grenzbereich von Fotografie, Malerei, Grafik, Lichtkunst und Skulptur anzusiedeln. Farbe, Licht und Raum als zentrale Wahrnehmungsfaktoren des menschlichen Sehens fungieren für ihn dabei als Basismaterial. Die großformatigen Fotografien der Serie „Lightflow“ sind als Beitrag zu einer erweiterten Malereidiskussion zu verstehen. Trotz der spürbaren Referenzen gegenüber dem amerikanischen Colorfield-Painting oder der Minimal Art ist Kehrers Kunst eine absolut in unserer Zeit verankerte Weltauseinandersetzung im Sinne eines ganzheitlichen Denkens.

Anton Kehrer‘s artistic practice lies in the border region between photography, painting, drawing, light-art and sculpture. As central factors of human visual perception, colour, light and space act as a basic material for him. The large-sized photographs of the series „Lightflow“ are to be understood as a contribution to a broadened discussion of painting. Despite the palpable references to the American Colourfield painting or Minimal Art, Kehrer‘s artwork is an entirely contemporary confrontation with the world in the sense of holistic thinking.
