Mit dem Projekt Sound-Shifting widmet sich Reinhard Gupfinger der dreidimensionalen Darstellung von Klängen; also dem Sichtbarmachen und Beleuchten von unsichtbaren Phänomenen, die wesentlich unsere Wahrnehmung prägen. Es werden unterschiedliche künstlerische Verfahren angewandt, um Klänge in dreidimensionale Objekte zu übersetzen. Die Skulpturen geben durch ihre formalen und ästhetischen Merkmale Aufschluss über die dargestellten Klänge und erweitern so das Spektrum ihrer Wahrnehmbarkeit.
Reinhard Gupfinger’s project Sound Shifting deals with the visualization and illumination of invisible phenomena that significantly shape our perception to create three-dimensional representations of sound. Different artistic methods are used to translate sounds into three-dimensional objects. The sculptures are designed to provide information about the represented sounds through their shape and aesthetic features. Through this transformative process the range of our perception is expanded, by creating new perspectives.
